History Of Indapur.
HISTORY OF INDAPUR Indapur have a great history as we known. Indapur is the Jagir of Malojiraje and Shahajiraje Bhosale. MALOJIRAJE - Malojiraje ( Grandfather of THE GREAT WORRIOR SHIVAJI MAHARAJ ) are the SARDAR of Nijamshah. When they started the their work with Nijamshahi then Nijamshah give Malojiraje the Jagir of Indapur and Supe.In Indpaur Jagir there are almost 34 villages came under it, that’s why Malojiraje came always in Indapur.Adilshahi is also one of the danger enemy of Nijamshahi. In year 1620 Malojiraje are dead in Indapur Battle against Adilshah, at that time Shahajiraje are of only 6 years old. Then brother of Malojiraje means Vithojiraje gives 17.5 RUKE(Nearly 1 Ekar) land for the SAMADHI of Malojiraje. Now the last thing of Malojiraje that is their Samadhi is totally destroid in Indapur. It happens in about 40-50 years before. But the Footprints(PADUKA) on the Samadhi are in good state and put in the “Indreshwar Mandir” in Indapur . In Indapur there are 5 main Sardar’s of Malojiraje are take control of all the things their names are as follows, Pingale, Pansare, Ghatage, Javdekar,….. They leaves in Indapur in their personal houses? VADA’S. Now all the Vada are destroid but only two of them are in desirable condition that of Pansare Vada which is now Pawar Vada in Indapur near Alfa-Byte institute and other is Javdekar Vada ,which shows us the huge History of Indapur. Also there are many Historical places in Indapur such as Bhuikot- Killa, Big Talav, Many of Vade, Ram Mandir, Bhavani Devi Mandir, Malavarcha Khandoba Mandir, Vyankteshwar Mandir in Vyankteshvar Nagar and many of Hidden Roads auch as Bhuyar are also seen. But many of these things are destroided naturaly. When any SARDAR or shah came in Indapur stays in the killa of Indapur, Killa of Indapur is one of the type BHUIKOT-KILLA. But now the killa is fully destroyed and there is a TAHSIL KACHEHARI OF INDAPUR. SHAHAJIRAJE - After the deth of Malojiraje his elder son Shahajiraje beacame Sardar of Nijamshah and again the Jagir of Indapur come under Shahajiraje and then to Shivaji Maharaj. At once when the Shajiraje are the SARDAR of Adilshah, to get them back Nijamshah offered the Jagir of Indapur and Supe. From this incident we understand the importance of Indapur city. Babaji Bhosale father of Malojiraje Bhosale. Battle of Sinhagad :- Nearly 1500 Mogul infantry fled to Pune from Sinhagad after the battle taking advantage of darkness of midnight. This battle significantly boosted confidence of Marathas and within two months after this battle Maraths won all nearby forts like Purandar, Lohagad so on. Till beginning of rainy monsoon season, excluding Pune, Indapur and Baramati all regions were won by Maraths. In June 1670,the Mogul army was totally unprepared and ill-equipped as Monsoon had arrived. Sensing this as unique opportunity, before preparation of Mogul army, Chatrapati Shivaji decided to attack urban area of Pune, Baramati, Supe and Indapur in the rainy season. Within 10–15 days, Maraths captured all these areas from Moguls, this transition happened nearly after 10 years that is in 1660, these cities were captured by mogul army headed by Shahistekhan. Nira Narsingpur :- Nira Narsingpur is a village in Indapur taluka of Pune district , Maharashtra, India.[1]The confluence of rivers Bhima and Nira is 3 km from the temple. The temple is the Kuldaiwat (Family deity) for a number of Marathi families of different castes. This Place gets its prominence because it is believed that Prahllad took bath in this Bhima river and with his hand he made an idol of "Lord Narasimha(Lion Faced God)" with the sand and worshipped Him. The idol made of sand of "Lord Narasimha" is still intact by the magic of science. This had been smeared in the past by the diamond powder by then Winchurkar's(Now Parvatikar) ancestors of the family all over the idol, which does not disintegrate the sand. This sounds strange but its true. Recently within 2-4 years one person by name Mr.Dandawate who stays in this place got this the diamond mixture imported from United States and smeared it again on this idol to increase the life of the idol. The story of the Lord Narasimha temple goes back to the history. In the olden times there was a demon called Hiranya-kashayap who was the king. He was an atheist who envied Lord Narayana (Shri Hari). The reason for which was his brother Hiranyaksha was killed by Lord Narayana earlier. Hiranya-kashyap was a self proclaimed god. He was cruel to people who did not accept him as god. He punished the people who offered special poojas(Yagnya, Homa), conducted by sages to please Lord Narayana. However without his knowledge his wife worshipped Lord Narayana and she was a greatest devotee of Lord Narayana, by the virtue of which both the couple gave birth to a son who was named Prahllad. Prahllad was a not an ordinary kid. He was an extraordinary kid blessed by Lord Narayana who by birth had spiritual powers. His face glowed like a moon and he was filled with utmost devotion towards Lord Narayana unlike his father. As soon as the child Prahllad was of age between 5-7 years, he was sent to Gurukoola(Residential School away from home where spiritual education takes place). Since this Gurukoola was owned by his father Hiranya-Kashyap, instead of worshiping the Lord Narayana they thought here to worship the idol of his father. He denied this started to chant Lord Narayana Mantra " Om Namo Narayanaya". This continued and all his school mates continued to meditate Lord Narayana only. When this came to the knowledge of Hiranya-Kashyap he was furious. He tried to convince Prahllad to chant his name and worship him like god. But Prahllad was hard core devotee of Lord Narayana he never agreed. Though Prahllad was his own kid the king did not forgive him he started to punish him by asking the soldiers to beat him up with the rope. But the rope turned into a flower garland by the grace of Lord Narayana. Like this there were several incidents which did not shake Prahllad's faith towards Lord Narasimha. The King and father Hiranya-Kashayap was fed up with this Kid Prahllad. Once he took him to the palace and wanted to check his faith and belief. The King Hiranya-Kashyap wanted to put an end to this story he asked Prahllad can you show me Where's your god? Where's Lord Narayana? Show him now I want to see him. Prahllad replied he is everywhere and is omnipresent. King laughed at the poor kid and wanted to embarrass him so he asked the kind whether your Lord Narayana is present in the pillar. Yes came the reply. King took his Gadha ( Weapon shaped like a dome in the top and which can be held at the bottom with two hands) and banged on the pillar. The pillar broke and the Lord Narayana incarnated as "Lord Narasimha (Lion Faced God)" and tear Hiranaya-Kashyap apart with the nails and killed the demon Malik Ahmad : establishment of Nizamshahi of Ahmednagar (1490) :- With the establishment of the Nizamshahi rule with Ahmednagar as its headquarters, practically the whole of the Poona territory, perhaps with the exception of Indapur, which still continued to be under at least the nominal suzerainty of Yusuf Adil Khan of Bijapur, came under the unified control of the Nizamshahi.

Deccan expedition - submitted by: Sambhaji Chavan
After the Srikalahasti temple tower collapsed in late May, it was reported that the 236-feet-tall
‘rajagopuram’ in Srirangam, Tiruchi too had a crack. A team from Chennai, consisting of officers from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR&CE) department, IIT professors, highway department officials and sthapathis (sculptors), then rushed to Srirangam to conduct an inspection. Soon afterwards, the team also visited other temples across Chennai and its suburbs to check the strength of these towers, which usually grace the entrance to the shrines.
“We noticed a sculpture of Tamil poet Tiruvalluvar sitting cross-legged, with some palm leaves in his hand, at the Kalikambal temple in Broadway. Another sculpture depicting the marriage of Shiva and Parvathi was found at the Karneeswarar temple in Saidapet, said an official. “The Kalikambal temple also has a rare painting and a sculpture showing Goddess Kali blessing Chhatrapati Shivaji. It is said that Shivaji visited the temple in the year 1677 and offered prayers to the deity.
Historical records indicate that Shivajis army came down south up to Kancheepuram, then under the sway of the Nawab of Arcot, who owed allegiance to the British. Legend has it that he visited the temple one night during a recce after he heard that the presiding deity was Kali, his favourite goddess. A long line of Maratha kings, who were descendants of Shivaji, later controlled the Thanjavur region for nearly two centuries.
